So, if any of you remember this post: http://bunnygopoof.livejournal.com/3894.html

Then the image inspired by this song...:

might still be in your head somewhere....somewhere far back there.

Anyways, I decided to bust it out nearly a year later, and I can hardly believe it's been that long. Since my acrylic paints are out of my possession for months now I decided to paint it in photoshop instead.

This isn't done yet, I have more plans for it, but I decided it was time for an update with it. Here's where it is for now. When I'm completely happy with it I'm planning on having prints of it for sale here: http://bunnygopoof.deviantart.com/art/Summer-Song-131040467

Barrel Roll Barf! [Sep. 26th, 2008|04:25 pm]

I was killing a little time before work this morning and through reading xkcd (www.xkcd.com) I researched 'Babby' and discovered it's meaning on youtube along with a collection of videos where Tom Green is bombarded by people who spend all day on 4chan and then spend their nights calling his show to moronically blab slang from the site...I suppose if anyone deserves it, it's Tom Green. ^_^ ANYWAYS!!!!! The picture below is the result from my boredom once I got to work. :)

I'm tired of people coming to me for free services. I think I'm currently in the two things that people take advantage of the most: art and computers. I think any artist can relate to the frustration of friends, family, and even strangers asking you to draw them a picture. I don't mind doing doodles for anyone, but most people give you a detailed description of what they want and it usually involves color in the form of paint (detailed enough so that they can frame and hang it), and they want it for free.....Please people, do you have any idea?

Again, People also assume because I work with computers that I automatically can and want to fix any computer problems they have. My creepy neighbor decided to knock on my window tonight at 9pm, after calling my cell phone which he shouldn't have the number to, to request that I come to his house and look at something on his computer because he was "cleaning it out". That's shady enough, but also add that he has come to my window and basically tried to get a booty call, at times knocks on my window at 4 in the morning while drunk AND high to 'hang out'....this guy is creepy, and so are all of his weed-laden friends.

In the end I've decided that I'm going to stop telling people what I do. Instead I'm going to flat out lie. I thought it through and I believe I found both a college major and a job that will spark no interest with anyone. I now work at McDonalds and am a Marketing major. I would have gone with some less traveled fastfood chain, but then I wouldn't be able to recite ANY of the menu items, I've seen enough McDonalds commercials to understand they sell...uuuhhh....whoppers? no, no....WELL! I know they have fruit parfaits. I think Marketing will do well because I can bullshit an answer when people ask what I 'actually do' because hardly anyone understands what marketing is anyways!

As I grow up I'm forced to be more and more of an enigma to the general public, and I'm okay with that. A few close people can know the truth about me, it'll be fun coming up with amusing lies for the unimportant people.

*end rant*

More on it later when I get my paints out and finish it! :3

OH! and I've played with some construction paper in a new sheet of paper....it's pretty snazzy! I'm hoping to do some gnarly stuff on that one.

So after my hiatus with the plushie, I have finally gotten back to the original project of making paper. And as you see...it's paper. Woot! It holds up pretty well, I haven't tried paints on it but ballpoint pen does well. Thank you PK for helping, and Albert...for watching. I already have two more sheets drying outside, it is getting easier and quicker each time. This sheet is just old bank statements but I'll probably start experimenting with materials and processes soon, maybe you'll see some of them up here. ANYWAYS, if you want to give it a shot yourself, here's where I got the instructions I used:

Oh yeah! And thank you Cat Friend for helping me this morning with the new sheets o' paper.

In other news: I might have other news soon. Wish me luck and skillz! ;)

...any suggestions?

He was totally free to make. I used only stuff I found around the house and he's actually stuffed with old plastic grocery bags (it's softer and quieter than you think). If I had to estimate, I'd say he took about 9 hours from beginning to finish.

I was gathering materials for a new project I wanted to embark on when I came across this box full of old felt material. Suddenly memories of making clothes for my toys when I was about 5 years old came to mind and I almost immediately dropped what I was originally going to do today and decided to bust out my mom's sewing kit. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't sew. I don't...but I did today!
I had decided I wanted to do something simple since I had never done anything like it before, and I just wanted to do a nondescript creature. I decided on a cute tail, some ears, a simple body shape and got to work at it. When I was just about done sewing up the very last part, by hand and hours later, my friend, Robby, came in. I proudly showed him my accomplishment for the evening...

Photobucket
(face for placement only) :p

...and he stopped...Stared at it for a second...then basically told me I made a pink beaver. I held my baby out at arms length and had the epiphany....I had TOTALLY made a little plushie that would haunt me forever. The jokes were going to flood from this little creation.
Lesbian jokes have followed me around since high school and now people had evidence that subconsciously I was cheering for the beav. He even has a nice 'landing strip' on his back.
All in all, I say eff that! I'm going to finish my beav up with a face sometime tomorrow and show you some better pictures of the finished plushie.
I say, all in all, not a failure. I think it'll hold up well to handling and you can't see much of the threading you're not suppose to....So, besides the EPIC FAIL of being a Pink Beaver, not a fail!

Stefan Thompson is a canadian-based artist who would inspire me solely on his creations, but also is consistently working at leaving less and less of a mark on our earth, which gives me something truly to aspire to. He even has a page on his website to inform you and give you some tips on how to be an artist with a smaller footprint. I encourage you to check him out:

http://www.stefanthompson.com/

One of my best friends also has a blog on how to "be green". Some of her entries include info on being more friendly in choosing clothes and make-up and entries about current issues like plastic bags. She hasn't updated in a couple of months but is planning on jumping back into the waters. Check out her old entries: http://talkingabouttrees.blogspot.com/

alrighty! Later skaters!

It seems to me that often we overlook and under-glorify the little things in life, while exaggerating and venerating the unimportant things. Where a neighbor two blocks down from me parks two hummers in their driveway. Where, in a classroom for three hours, I have learned nothing more than what happened on the last episode of 'Lost'. Where I have sat on my ass and squandered my day compulsively on the internet. I feel that we're often greedy, disillusioned, and/or just effing lazy or lost.

I am looking to be more inquisitive. I am looking to be more aware, more attentive, and more appreciative; More friendly, more fervent, and more focused. I want to share and be selfless when I can and accept that I can't do everything, especially not great things, alone. It's hard to break a cycle...

My head is starting to hurt today from two things: (1)Trying to contain my laughter and (2) trying to perceive the people (and the amount that exist) on this earth that said and believe the things I read today.

I've read through FSTDT's top 100 quotes this morning and I want to share the link with any readers that stumble upon this entry.

I won't get into any of the quotes specifically because I'd be a monkey writing shakespeare here, but check it out...laugh five pounds off your ass, then go and enjoy some Pinkberry.

I've always heard people say that they 'got good' by mimicking artists that they're fans of. I never really took to this, I always wanted to create something from my own imagination and thought the idea of copying someone else's work was as boring as drawing still life. I've recently decided to say 'Fuck you brain, I'm going to mimic for practice' and it's actually pretty fun! ^_^ Here is a page pulled from sketchbook of such practice:

Photobucket

zee original artists I pulled from (in no particular order, check them all out!): Stephane Tartelin, Ashley Woods, James Jean, Michel Gagné, and Chris Sanders.

...you'll probably see more of these sketchbook pages as they come, with more and more awesome artists I love! <3

I have been using my old laptop to scan in my drawings and transferring them over to my macbook pro, mostly because I've been lazy, via a flashdrive. Today I decided to stop being lazy (odd cuz it takes more work to actually transfer than it would to download the drivers) and install what I needed to scan on my macbook. I use a small all-in-one HP printer/scanner, it's not the best but it has managed to keep it's place on my desk. So I discover today that there are no drivers to make it possible for me to use my scanner on my mac........yeah. A google search and forum later I find out that other people have had this problem too and that they actually have to call up HP and have them run through which hidden files you have to search for and delete then what exactly you need to uninstall and re-install and blah blah blah.

I decided instead of building frustrations over this, I'd just vent it in photoshop with a drawing (since I don't have to scan digital, yay!)

You might be able to tell: the frustration is in the hair, not the eyes.

grrrr...I'll have to figure something out....*grumble*

Here's my official unofficial 'stuff' page. I'm just going to be using this site as a dumping ground for my scrap doodles and my scrap thoughts. So, in other words, don't take anything I post here too seriously, they are preliminary ideas. Most of them will never see fruition but having this sanctuary for thoughts will hopefully help me have more and execute more.

Just today I picked back up at the artjumble blog: http://www.artjumble.blogspot.com/
Posted this little guy I did in about a half an hour, on week 101 (red)...
Red Panda says...

I'm hoping to keep up with the weeks there at ArtJumble until fall quarter kicks back up in late September. it'd be great to continue it after that but far too many other things are going to be popping up, I'm sure.

NeWays, go google cute red pandas...I wonder if any of the zoos around here have any...hmmm....*googles*
